TIME SAVER: Finding Time Stealers

Just like when I discussed money leaks in this post , so too our time can develop leaks.  I like to call these "time stealers".  They could also be called "time wasters".  Since one of my life goals is to always be a TIME SAVER, I keep a keen eye on my daily routine to eliminate time stealers.  Of course the biggest time stealer in my life is television. I can't help myself! TV just sucks me in!  I am very aware of my TV addiction and work hard to control it. My Husband laughs because he can say anything to me when I watch TV and I don't hear it.  I have no idea he is even talking to me that's how bad it is.  I zone right in.  Even the commercials.
A small sampling of our DVD collection

(Confessions of a TV-aholic: I love commercials! Shhh. Don't tell anyone I said that.  That's like saying "I love telemarketers" or something.)

To address this time stealer in our house, Hubby and I will be suspending our TV hook up (which is satellite) for a few months starting mid February.  To be honest I'm really looking forward to the break.  I do try hard to prevent TV from interrupting all I need to do in a day but it is oh so tempting just to sit and be entertained.

The second biggest time stealer in our home is mostly likely the internet.  I don't think that will be going ANYWHERE for a long time.  ;)

What time stealers have you identified in your home?
What measures have you taken to get that time back?

Tomorrow "Friday's Quick Tip: Broccoli Elastics"
Do you know what to do with them once you've eaten all the broccoli?
Check in tomorrow to find out my favorite use!
