My Spring

Well, around here it doesn't feel much like spring.

Mostly because it looks like this:

Yes that is my garden under all that snow.

Those trees are our apple trees.

They do not have any buds or any sign of spring on them.

And yes that is snow.  It is April 2nd and that is snow!  In fact it is -15C!!  With a windchill of -26C!!!

So...

since spring refuses to show up outside my house I will create it INSIDE my house.

I found this pin about growing vegetables from kitchen scraps.
I was intrigued!
I'd heard about growing potatoes from  scraps (I plan to do it this spring should it ever get here!) but was surprised by how many vegetables you could do.  I read the whole article and was surprised again by how easy it sounded.  So I'm giving it a try!

Since celery costs $1.97 for a small bunch (in my neck of the woods) I've started with it.  I'm hoping this little plant will grow and save me money in the long run.

In the short run, it is a very green and fun new plant to have in the house.  It reminds me of spring and new growth and planting in my garden.

Since I can't have spring outside, I'm having this little piece of spring inside.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today!
Have a lovely day!
