MONEY SAVER: Homemade Teeth Whitener

This is a definite MONEY SAVER!  I know I have bought several teeth whitener kits over the years; for my wedding, for a party and for vanity.  They are expensive!  I came across a version on Pinterest here but did not like the taste at all!  So I altered the recipe drastically to create a very tasty, refreshingly clean and white smile.

Here is my recipe:

The How-To:
1 tsp any toothpaste (even the gel kind)
1/2 tsp baking soda (which scours off the yellow)
1 tsp hydrogen peroxide (which kills mouth bacteria and causes the whitening)

Mix ingredients together in a shallow bowl.  Dip your wet toothbrush in the mixture and gently brush on teeth and gums.  You will feel a tingling.  This is the hydrogen peroxide working to kill all your mouth bacteria.  Continue to brush gently for 2 minutes (I promise the tingling will go away after a few seconds) or as long as you can.  Spit and rinse as you would with regular tooth paste.  Your teeth will immediately look whiter and your mouth will feel amazingly clean!
The look and texture of the mixture
Repeat the above steps daily for one week.  Unfortunately any mixture left over from the day before will dry into a hard cake so a new batch must be made each day.

CAUTION: If you choose to repeat these steps for longer than a week please consult your dentist.  I am not a dentist and do not know the long term effects of prolonged tooth whitening.  If you have any concerns at all please consult your dentist or dental hygienist.

Whiter teeth for less!
