I recently found this verse and I love it! I always knew that God went before me, into my future, and that He has a glorious plan for me (and all of us!). But I never thought about God as being in the past. I love knowing that He also follows after me. To me that means every blunder I make, every embarrassing moment, He is using those. Those aren't my last impressions because God follows behind me. Amazing!
You have enclosed me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
