SANITY SAVER: How To Create Your Own Mom Binder

Having a Mom Binder has been a real SANITY SAVER  for me.  It keeps me organized and keeps all those scrap bits of paper and information from random sources in one spot!  There are many examples of different Mom Binders (see links below) but this is how I created mine:
Inside the front cover of my Mom Binder.  I keep a pen on a clip so it's always have one when I need it!

1. Get a good binder.  I like the ones with a clear plastic sleeve on the front cover.  That way I can keep anything I want to see at a glance right where I can see it at a glance.  Also I like binders with pockets inside.  Some come with a 3-ring pencil case or other zippered pockets.  Think also of where you want to store your binder when you're not using it.  That may help in determining the size of binder you can use.

2. Decide what you want to use it for.  Do you want it to track household expenses, to contain your lists (like me!), to track important dates and gift ideas?  This is your Mom Binder so tailor it to suit what you need it to do.

3. Put it all together.  You can use dividers, plastic sleeves, lined paper, graph paper, 3-ring punched pockets, cork or foam and pushpins.

For me I needed sleeves I could put all my future lists, pamphlets and bits of information I had gathered.  I found clear plastic sleeves worked best for this purpose.  I bought 3 packages of them during "Back to School" sales for only $1 each.  I needed dividers for the different sections I wanted so I use sticky notes instead of actual dividers.  I think they look good, suit my purpose and give me the flexibility of changing them quickly without much hassle. I like the front pocket for my calendar and lists I'm currently using or creating; and the back pocket holds the verses I've written out and am trying to memorize.  I have two workbooks (bought for 50 cents each at the same "Back to School" sale).  One book holds the work I'm doing in my Bible Study, the second is to hold all the ideas, decisions and rules that Hubby and I make during our Family Meetings.

For more ideas check out these sites.  They all have great ideas!  I'm thinking of incorporating some into my own Mom Binder.  Some of them contain items for purchase.  I am not affiliated with these sites so please use your discretion when viewing them.
